Our language arts class will spend a good deal of time practicing reading and writing. Students are expected to have a novel in their possession whenever they are in my class (that includes math class!).
I will post other important information throughout the quarter so check back often.
Below are links to documents that you may need throughout the year.
I'll admit I wish I had more time to read for enjoyment. I'm often reading professional books (that means books about teaching.I know, not very exciting). I am almost always "reading" a book on CD or on my MP3 player. That way I can read while I exercise or do laundry or drive or whatever.I find it very enjoyable.I’ll post books that you might enjoy – not the boring teacher books. Most will be in class library or in the school library.Enjoy!
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
August '08 - This is first in a series about a girl in an English boarding school and the mysterious group she discovers. I'm only a few chapters in so all I can tell so far is that there is magic, danger and snotty British girls. I'm hoping some of the snotty ones get eaten by gargoyles or something similarly ghastly. I'd suggest it anyway.
